ok this mobile home was giving to me because she wanted it out of her yard, she said it was her fathers but he is deceased so the title is in his name she has no intentions of helping me get the title, now myn and her agreement was that she would give me a bill of sale when i pick up the home and she did that, she said she is the owner this is a 23 year old mobile home that was falling apart i took it and she has no idea where its at i restructured the whole entire home, so it dont even look the same anymore but im scared that they may come and pick up my home like they repo cars but the woman wrote in the title that its free and clear, and she gave me her words theres no liens on it, i have called the dmv and they are no help they keep asking for a vin## on it i keep giving them the serial number i have talk to 5 people at the dmv how can i find out if there are any liens on this home, how can i find out how to get this in my name there is no estate at all im in a bind here and i need help i dont have money for attorney so give me soem good advice or point me in the right directions please ,

Answer by Landlord You are not going to get title. She did not have title, your bill of sale is invalid. She coudl not sell you something she did not own.

Question by Chrystal M: Sued by finance company over repo’d car. How to react?
My good friend was served last night by Ford Motor Credit over his repo’d car about 2 years ago. He owns nothing but his home and his personal stuff. Does he need to respond to the court papers or just let them get a default judgment? His wife called attorneys today and found out it will cost about $ 2000 to be represented in this case because Ford is asking for a lot of paperwork to be produced. The amount he said he is being sued for is around $ 7000.
His wife is irate because she thinks it will get their IRS refunds taken every year until it’s paid, but I said they can’t do that with a judgment. Only take proceeds from the sale of a house or something, right, if they own nothing other than one house?

In most States they can garnish his wages and attach his bank accounts.

I bought a car from a buy here pay here lot and paid $ 640.00 for the down payment of $ 700.00 and the came and repo’d the car on the 6th day of ownership. What or is there any leagal actions that can be made. I would like to have a letter stating that I don’t have the car anymore mut they will not give that to me until they resale the car. They have it back out on there car lot for sale? Please help with any information.
Also on the tag, can they just stop it or does it have to go through and I pay for that and then cancel it or what can or needs to be done?

Answer by Otto If you did not abide by the terms of the sale, they can come at any time they want to for the vehicle. It is not like dealing with a reputable seller. These people make their profit by selling a vehicle over and over. Use this as a lesson learned.
